faces south(sits 癸, faces 丁)
Has:sheltered from the wind all round, open, gentle ground in frontCould be stronger:nothing screening the view ahead, the hill on the right is too high and close, the left side is open
The seat scored lies about 53 m from the main building. Computed from public elevation data (2026-10-14); ground only, buildings not counted, not reviewed by a feng shui master.
The place
Opened at Waishuangxi in 1965 to house the Qing court collection of painting, calligraphy and objects. The main building backs onto the Waishuangxi hills, with Zhishan Road and the valley in front.
Why this score
There is a hill to lean on, no wind gap and an open front. Two things hold the score down: the hills on either side stand too high and too close, like two walls (a home wants flanking hills about 5° high; here they are 8–9°), and nothing in the distance ahead sits at eye level as a screen.
