faces south(sits 癸, faces 丁)
Has:sheltered from the wind all round, a hill to lean on behind, a low hill screening the view aheadCould be stronger:the front is too steep or blocked
The seat scored lies about 85 m from the main building. Computed from public elevation data (2026-10-14); ground only, buildings not counted, not reviewed by a feng shui master.
The place
The main palace of the Joseon dynasty, completed in 1395. Korean geomancy holds it up as the model site: Bugaksan behind, Naksan to the left, Inwangsan to the right, Namsan ahead as the table hill, and the Cheonggyecheon flowing in front. The ground reads its best facing as due south, exactly as built; but within a few hundred metres ahead the elevation data finds something standing up across the view, and the ground is level rather than falling away, so the open-front form scores zero.
